The Emergence of Sin
Adam, the first man sinned (disobedience) and we all became sin. This is because God created every other human in Adam (Gen. 1:28). Cain and Abel were already in Adam even before they were born so also you and I were in our parents even before we were born. This is to say whatever our parents did before they birth us, we partook in it. We all partook in the first sin and in the punishments as well.
Who can Save Man?
Everything is guided by principles, God would not violate his own word. Remember as a result of our disobedience in the garden we all have sinned and are falling short of the honor and glory of God (Rom 3:23.) The remission of sin must be done by a man, but a man that has not falling short of God’s Glory. Unfortunately this man cannot be found from the lineage of Adam, because all even the unborn have sinned and falling short of God’s glory. Therefore another man from God must come, the man Jesus.
Jesus the Savior
God’s plan for the salvation of mankind is in the man Jesus Christ the Son of God. Jesus met the criteria for whom to save man. Jesus a man not from the lineage of Adam, this also mean he is without sin (2 Cor. 5:21). Jesus authored salvation and completed it (Heb. 12:2), paved the way for us, fought the battles for us, and he said “I have overcome the world” (Jn. 16:33).
The Salvation Package
Jesus came to restore relationship between God and Man, in doing so he died and resurrected to give us Life. For Jesus to restore relationship with God, he had to settle and completely defeat what caused the separation at first – SIN (Isa. 59:2). In dealing with sin Jesus strategically gave two things amidst many others. – His Blood and His Body. If we lack the understanding of these two packages Jesus gave, then sin will seem inevitable.
The Blood of Jesus
Sin did not just cause death, but Sin firstly is Death (Separation from the Life of God). So in order to abolish death Life is a necessity. In the Blood is the Life (Lev. 17:11). The bible say “… without the shedding of Blood there is no remission of sin (Heb. 9:22). In the Old Testament the blood of lambs and goats and sheep are used for the remission of sin and this process is done yearly. In fact, when a man kills another man unlawfully, the blood of that person is required that- is the life. This is to say, the answer to sin (Death) is the Blood (Life).
Jesus offered himself by giving his blood as an eternal offering to God in order:
- To obtain eternal redemption from for us (Heb. 9:12).
- To purge our conscience from dead works to serve the living God (Heb. 9:14).
- To have boldness to enter into the Holy of Holies (Heb. 10:19).
Purge our conscience from dead works. The blood of Jesus makes us immune to sin. The blood of Jesus did not wash sin away from us, but the blood of Jesus washed us away from sin. Our understanding of the power in the blood brings the reality of sinless living to us. When you realize that Jesus’ blood that was offered was to give life by washing you clean from every dead work. See this, the blood purge or wash your conscience from dead works, this is both the ones (dead works) you have done and the one to come such that when it comes you are already purified (protected). This is higher life. See these, (Mk. 14:24, Lk. 22:20) – and he said unto them, this is My Blood (which ratifies) the new covenant, (the blood) which is been pour out (on account for many), (Matt. 22:28) – For this is my blood of the new covenant, which (ratifies the agreement and) is being poured out for many for the forgiveness of sins.
The Body of Jesus Christ
The blood deals with the activities of sin (dead works), it forgives past sins and make you immune (to withstand) to any sinful temptation to come. The Body deals with the sin nature. Kindly note that when Adam sinned we did not just sin with him, but we became sin. This means we inherited a nature called sin. A life or Lifestyle that is sinful, therefore our deed will be sinful.
“But his body was pierced for our transgression; he was crushed for our inequities…” (Isa. 53:5). The body of Jesus Christ was broken in order to provide solution to the life we got from sin. There was a problem with the use of animals in the Old Testament, the process have to be repeated yearly. This is because the nature of sin was not dealt with by the sacrifice of animals and shedding of their blood. But the sacrifice of Jesus’ body sanctified us once and for all (Heb. 10:10). Jesus answer the nature of sin by sacrificing his body, he initiated, dedicated and opened a new and living way for us through the breaking and separating of his flesh (Heb. 10:19). When the veil of the holy of holies tore, this signifies his breaking of his body which deals with the sin nature and grants us assess to enter into God.
I strongly believe it is possible to live a sinless life. Our understanding of the significance of the Blood and Body of Jesus Christ will assuredly bring the reality of this truth. If sin caused a barrier between God and man, then we can’t claim that we have Jesus and still continue in the sins he came to abolish. For more understanding do a thorough reading of Hebrew 8-13. God bless you. Amen
